We are excited to be recruiting for new talent to join our growing and innovative team – Computer Programming Manager! This position manages departmental operations, including scheduling, strategic planning, business development, vendor relationships, project coordination, staffing, budgeting, technology research, and employee performance, while ensuring efficient workflows and alignment with organizational goals.
The responsibilities of this role may include:
- Oversees and manages scheduling of personnel resources to ensure optimal project staffing and efficiency
- Develops strategic plans for future departmental growth and technological advancements
- Coordinates, Communicates and manages sub-contractors and programming efforts
- Assists with business development efforts to include preparing quotes and providing information for proposals
- Conducts ongoing research to identify and evaluate new technologies, hardware, software, and industry developments
- Develops and refines departmental standards to improve efficiency, quality, and performance
- Develops and maintains comprehensive documentation for processes, systems, and standards
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services
- Communicates with customers, schedule projects, and manage timelines to ensure successful project completion
- Develops new templates and innovative programming solutions to keep the department at the forefront of technology
- Organizes and manages events, including internal meetings, training sessions, and industry conferences
- Oversees departmental budgeting, including ordering supplies, equipment, and software necessary for operations
- Creates and maintains device modules, ensuring they are up-to-date and functional
- Recruits, interviews, and hires new employees to meet departmental needs and support growth
- Serves as the primary liaison between the programming department and corporate leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Provides emergency support and serves as a backup resource for code development on critical projects
- Manages the performance and expectations of subordinates
- Assesses performance both formally and informally
- Provides mentoring, coaching and discipline when necessary
- Makes recommendations for hires, promotions, terminations, and demotions
- Provides input regarding compensation
- Approves time off requests and time keeping record
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications for this position include:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related field
- At least 10 years of programming experience with increasing responsibilities and scope
- At least 5 years of experience leading geographically dispersed teams
- Must be eligible to receive a DoD issued Top Secret clearance
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
Additional qualifications include:
- Proficient with Microsoft Applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Expert Programmer in Extron, Crestron, AMX a plus

Pay Range
$140,000 - $165,000 a year
The above pay range represents a general guideline; however, AV3, Inc. considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
