We are excited to be recruiting for new talent to join our growing and innovative team – Business Development Specialist! The Business Development Consultant identifies new business opportunities and builds relationships with critical client decision makers on opportunities to win new work and achieve AV3’s revenue and profit growth goals. Works as an integrated team member across teams in a highly collaborative and matrixed culture. Creates and executes the growth strategy for the organization while executing client call plans, development, delivery, and presentation of concept papers, briefings, formal and informal proposal responses, and other outreach efforts to qualify and inform bid and no bid decisions in support of advancing new and take-share opportunities through the entire business development lifecycle, in the current year as well as 18–24 months ahead of solicitation release. This position reports to the Business Development and Capture Management Director.

The responsibilities of this role may include:

  • Provides insight and direct support for the preparation, approval, and execution of plan, schedule, win strategy, and budget associated with business opportunities for the organization.
  • Directs planning, research, and analysis of organization’s objectives, long-range planning, business opportunities, and business development activities.
  • Develops and provides company awareness and capabilities briefings, and attends marketing and business development conferences, industry days, expos, and seminars.
  • Leads the development of customer profiles, including customer needs, issues, desires, and biases.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define, establish, and set growth strategies and goals to support the company’s revenue goals, and directs the effort to reach them.
  • Develops ways to seize growth opportunities.
  • Researches customer needs and develops how the company will apply products and services to comprehensively meet them.
  • Helps develop and foster team relationships with other companies.
  • Helps develop and foster team relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Assists in the development of marketing, promotional materials, and overall growth strategy.
  • Performs detailed analyses RFP, RFI, RFQ requirements.
  • May assist in RFP lifecycle and proposal process.
  • May be required to provided writing support, including, but not limited to, developing rough drafts and detailed outlines for any part of the proposal process.
  • Answers customer questions and handles their complaints rapidly.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and other practices developed and implemented by upper management
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

To qualify for this position, you must possess a high school diploma; a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business development, or a relevant field is preferred. At least 5 years of DoD Business Development experience.
 

Additional qualifications include:

  • Proven hands-on experience in the federal government contracting space.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Pay Range

$68,809 - $121,724 per year

The above pay range represents a general guideline; however, AV3, Inc. considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
